Post: How do I activate MS Office Professional Plus 2010?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I ask because I'm in a bit of a bind. My previous boyfriend, having much more experience with computers than me, would often "fix" things on my laptop, or give me new programs that he thought I would like. A while back he gave me a 2010 version of Miscrosoft Word (Professional Plus), to which I've now adapted.

Just recently I've been getting a window pop up every time I open a word document, titled "Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 - Activation Wizard". It reads:

"This copy of Microsoft Office is not activated. You have 24 days left to activate. Ensure you are connected to your corporate network to enable automatic activation. Your system administrator can help." (Error Code: 0xC004F074)

There is a button to "Change Product Key", which would seem to solve the issue, but I don't know what to put into the field that pops up when I click the button. Normally I would just ask the man who gave me the program what to do, but since we broke up we haven't been speaking, and I really don't want to call him up just for this. I tried Googling around but the information I'm finding is over my head.

I'm a student, and I have exams coming up and papers that will be due over the next month and a half. All of my notes and drafts are in MS Word 2010, and I am really concerned about losing access to them, or just generally being without a word processor.

How can I appease the annoying pop-up window, and give myself at least bit more time before Word implodes (or does whatever it is going to do after the 24-day period?). I am planning to buy a new laptop as soon as the summer begins, for which I will acquire appropriate software.
