(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Well heres my situation... I have a terrible computer basically. This computer features 512mb ram o.O, crappy graphics card, intel celeron processor <= Fail, etc. Basically, Is it worth putting windows 7 on this? I am running xp on it and runs fine for me. Will windows 7 slow it down at all? or should it run the same speed as XP does?

I run the windows upgrade advisor and it claims I should get 1gb of ram atleast and that my graphics card will not support aero.

I'd like to put 7 on it, but would these upgrades be worth purchasing? (Some ram and a video card)? Or should I stick to good o'l Xp?

Windows 7 is a powerful OS to have on a computer. My computer i have is built for Windows 7 (AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core at 8GB ram with ATI Raedon 4350 HD) and its a beauty. But reading your specs for your computer, i dont reccomend it. I tried it on my other computer that wasnt meant for another OS other than Windows XP, and it was laggy, slow, and horrid. Think about upgrading your computer a bit before going into the future Winky Winky but then again, dont spend just as much money upgrading your computer as much as a new computer would cost.

Wow... That's a pretty pathetic computer. I wouldn't recommend wasting any money to upgrade that when you could probably spend the same amount of money on a new Laptop that already comes preinstalled with Windows 7.

Do not, it will be slow as hell. I went back with XP with this dual core 2ghz 2gb ram and its running good.

You could probably buy a new computer that's much better for a cheap price. Even Netbooks these days are better than that.

Im sure i read somewhere it has the same requirements as xp when its slightly dubbed down, but it has alot of features i would recommend this if you could. On the other hand if your forking out and buying it legit, just buy a new pc. One at even £300 would be better for you by the sounds.

Sadly, that's probably true. XP is a horrible operating system but it would most likely run a lot faster than Windows 7 ever could on that.
