(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); My old laptop which is about 3-4 years old just isn't cutting it anymore. I'm thinking about getting this one, but I need some insight on it and if it's decent for the price. Here's the page: You must login or register to view this content. What do you think? Is it good/bad? Could I get the same/better for a lower price? Any tips/insight would be helpful.

Thats pretty decent its not to expensive. If it was me I would get a faster processor, slow laptops just piss me off.

I was at WalMart the other day and they had some pretty decent ones. I think one was an e-machines laptop for $348 that had about the same specs as this one, but you're right. I probably need a faster processor. By the way, does RAM affect speed that much or is it mostly the processor speed?

Ram is what mostly effects speed within the operating system, processor will help you with watching movies doing editing and rendering, i would recommend a minimum of 4GB of ram and atleast a 2.2GHz Core 2 Duo.

One side note: Dont buy emachines, nice computers, good prices, but HORRIBLE (practically non-existent) customer service.

Agreed, i had an emachine about 3 years ago and it started to slow down. I called Customer Support and they said it was normal. Two weeks later my computer crashed and the warranty didnt cover it.

Alright, no e-machines, 2.2 ghz dual core processor, 4 GB of ram. Does anyone know a place where they have good laptops for pretty cheap?

EDIT: Found a refurbished Gateway at TigerDirect.com. Here's the link: You must login or register to view this content.
