no offense,but they are both kinda the same, and not very good, but out of the two, the second one is better.

Toshiba is great and high performance. I'm using one now and it's pretty awesome!

My experience with toshbia isn't that good and out of them compaq is better, so i suggest you buy compaq!

Toshiba over Compaq every time, Compaq are one of the cheap, unrecommended maufactures like Kia for cars. Toshiba make solid laptops so I'd go for the Toshiba hands down although 2gb of ram is not a lot so in a couple of years the laptop will be likely to be very slow, you can upgrade it up to 8gb though which sounds good to me.

Go with Dell. They have never done me wrong
