(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i dont fully understand with these kinds of things cos im not a computer sort of guy...i wanna get an external hard drive for my laptop which only has 80gb, i wanna increase that to like 350gb

whats the difference between a portable external hard drive and a desktop external hard drive and does it matter?

i wanna get this portable one, do i just connect it via usb to my computer and let it install than transfer all the files onto it that i want?

im a noob when it comes to these things

That will be fine m8, the only real difference between a portable hdd and a desktop hdd is the physical size and cost, portables are smaller in physical size than a desktop one and terefore tend to be more expensive. If you are going to be carrying the external hdd around a lot then go for a portable, if not get a desktop one. Btw I have an Omega external hdd for my karaoke job and it has never let me down yet =D. Hope I helped.

Yer you've pretty much said exactly what you need to do I'm using a 1TB Western Digital Portable Ext hard drive and all you do is plug the thing into you pc or laptop in my case and then it will install some software on your laptop after that you should be ready to go.

Also if your a bit of novice with these things just go up to pc world and ask what's the best hard drive you should get that's what I did when I was unsure of what to use.
