All you need to do now is call 1-(800)-360-7561 and speak with someone about replacing your mouse. Tell them that your intellimouse is broken, and give them the PID of it. They will send you a new one, as in the new 3.0 intellimouse, no questions asked. It worked for me! I got my new intellimouse via UPS 2 days after I called. My other intellimouse magically started working for me when the new one arrived in the mail…what’re the odds of that!?!

This may not work for everyone, so if it doesn't work for you it is probably something you did or where you live, or the person you spoke with.
Start off by calling this number: 1-800-936-5700
(Yes, it is different than the one at the top, that's because they need to verify that it is broken.
NEW! If you live in the UK
For the UK version don't bother calling Microsoft support number they will just redirect you straight to - You must login or register to view this content.
Answer the questions then you'll get to a "Do you want to submit" page.
You must login or register to view this content.
Pressing yes will take you to a new page, with a list of products.
Choose your product from the list, an you will be met with some T&C's. Agree to these.
Now you will be asked for your PID. Enter this and the next screen you get to choose how you want to contact support. Choose "EMAIL"
If you choose to phone them they will tell you to submit an email. (I rang 5 times...... )
On the next screen copy the information from the first submit screen. (see screen shot)
Add your name, email an contact number, have a scan through the text as some of the questions need you to delete some info off them.
Now submit the email and you'll get a confirmation email with a case number.
Press option - 2 , 7
They'll probably ask for your name. Be honest and spell it for them.
You'll want to speak with technical support, so that they can "verify your item is broken" *wink wink*
Once they've finished "verifying that your item is broken" they will put you on hold for a while and do their thing.
Personally, I was using {Sidewinder x6 Keyboard}. I said that I had tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, restarting my computer and it simply wasn't recognizing that the keyboard was there. They asked me where I purchased this item and when I got it, I simply said that had received it as a gift this christmas (It being June I knew it would be under warranty that way). Eventually they had me go to control panel, device manager, look in my usb controllers and see if there was a yellow triangle, i said no, they asked if there was under keyboards, again I said no. They said well then it looks like it isn't your computer, and the device is defective.
They WILL ASK for you Product ID. You do NOT NEED THE ACTUAL ITEM! To get my PiD, I used this program.

Now many members have had a problem with them asking for a picture or a fax of the PiD. There are a couple of different solutions to get past this, I'll give you some examples but you can always come up with your own. One way is to say that you don't have a camera or a vehicle, and don't know where you would find a fax machine. Something along those lines or think outside of the box. Remember, you don't have the item, and you'll have to be quick on your feet.
So I sat on hold for a while, then the representative comes back, says it looks like your device is defective. Now what I need from you is your shipping information and e-mail.
Obviously I gave them the correct address, city, state, zip, and my e-mail.
They then put me on hold for a few more minutes.
After this, they say they have sent me a confirmation e-mail to verify that my item is being shipped.
The lady also gives me a confirmation number, and then asks if I would like to take a moment to speak to the manager.
I have no idea what for, I'm thinking my PiD is wrong, other stuff like that, but once the manager gets on he simply confirms my shipping informaton, my name, confirms that it was a gift for christmas, and then says that they are replacing the item free of charge and the e-mail will reflect that.
