First: Have you tried a system restore? Cause based on what you said, the drivers for the mouse have been messed up.

Second: Surely it didn't just up and do this one day. What were you (or anyone else for that matter) doing that caused it to start prompting for the disk?

Click on the start button (Don't know what it's called in Win7, but the button at the bottom left hand part of the screen.) Then in the little search bar type thing, type in "system restore" without quotes and hit enter. Follow the on screen instructions.

As for your desktop, you should still might be able to access system restore without needing to fully boot into windows. What operating system does your desktop have?

Kinda wasting time doing that, if it's reversed it's a really easy fix
You must login or register to view this content.

Since it's a touch pad it will be similar, might be a different window

digiw0rx
Pokemon Trainer
c:\windows\system32\drivers\i8042prt.sys
c:\windows\system32\drivers\mouclass.sys

rename those files, and restart, windows should automatically restore them, and hopefully fix the problem.
