They are both similar except the processors and ram.
The real question is what is better an i7 at 1.6 Ghz or an i5 with 2.66 Ghz?

I was thinking of going for the vaio but I want your advice. Winky Winky

EDIT: I'm mainly going to use this for gaming and some video editing.

Do recent games such as bfbc2, mw2 and medal of honor support hyper threading? also if you check You must login or register to view this content. the i5 560m has much more features including hyperthreading.

Ahhhhh okay now I see the i5 560m is 2 cores but has HT to 4. I was going off on what I know and heard....well in that case search the games to see if they do support HT...I know alot dont cause HT was invented when the i series came out. If not get i7 cause it already has 4 cores

Vaio is just great. I have one with i5 and it works perfectly, even with heavy stuff like rendering HD stuff in Cinema 4D. Of course it depends what you are going to do on your laptop.
Anyway I recommend the Vaio.

stop saying how much better the i7 is. In some spots it is better yes. But others the i5 will destroy it, such as games and programs that are optimized for dual-core processors. But i will go with the majority and say to get the HP just for the sake of future proofing.
