Tutorial

- Got System Preferences > Accounts > Login Options > Join > Open Directory Utilities

- Click on the picture of the lock in the lower left corner, and enter your administrator password to be permitted to make changes.

- Go to the "Edit" menu, and click "Enable root user"

- Enter a secure password that you would like to use for your super user account into both the password and verify boxes. Write it down and put it somewhere safe, you do not want to forget this password.

- Click OK, and you have a root user account!
