Post: Can my laptop handle a HD PVR?

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hi all, Just wondering will my laptop be able to record/playback recordings from a HD PVR? Its not the greatest of laptops but I'll post the specs and the requirements for a HD PVR

My Specs

Processor: Intel Pentium Dual Core T4200 @ 2 GHz, Pentium Dual Core T3400 @ 2.16 GHz. AMD Athlon X2 QL-65 @ 2.1 GHz, AMD Turion 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-62 @ 2.61 GHz.
Color: Matte Silver or Glossy Black.
Memory: 1, 2 or 3GB of DDR2 SDRAM @ 800 MHz.
Hard Drive: 160, 250 or 320GB Hard Disk Drive @ 5400 RPM.
Optical Disc Drive: DVD-SuperMulti drive (+/-R double layer), supports up to 11 formats.
Graphics: Mobile Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M (128MB), ATI Radeon 3100 (256MB).
Display: 1280x800 Supports 720p content. WXGA with TruBrite Technology. 15.4" widescreen.

Required Specs

Processor Requirements (minimum): Dual core CPU 2.0GHz or faster
Windows 7 (32 and 64-bit), Windows Vista or Windows XP service pack 2 (32-bit).
Graphics with 256MB memory (or greater)
Sound card
CD-ROM drive for installing the HD PVR software

it would run ok but u couldnt record alot of clips as each clip is about 1gb amin i think

a game of about 15mins is 1gb if you record at like 10 (which is above the default)

Yes, and they don't always even work. Very unreliable and poor quality, HD PVR or alternative solution recommended... coming from someone who has past experience with both Smile

well I can't get a HD PVR so I guess the Dazzle is the second best?

Yeah, but I personally recommend you don't buy it. If you have to though, you have to.

HD PVR, Blackmagic, anything else HD tends to be more reliable as it will come with a greater price tag.

I've never heard of this Blackmagic. Is it like a HD PVR? Because a HD PVR will not run on my laptop

It's a HD PVR that does 1080p, so no it won't run on your laptop LOL /facepalm
