Both GFX cards will give you great performance, can't really say anything about toshiba or MSI as companies, hard drive space doesn't matter because external HDD's are so cheap now, so see what screen size you like more, and if it matters to you, which one looks better.

I think (not entirely sure) the 5870 is going to edge out the 460m in games and rendering.

May I ask why you are getting a laptop for gaming?

MIS For Sure.

1. MSI has better customer support.
   
2. The 450 in the MSI is only .13GHz slower.
   
3. 5870 is much better than the 460, but remember when using laptops, heat is a large factor, and this card WILL produce a good amount of heat.
   
4. The 320GB HDD is easily upgraded to 1TB for 120 dollars.
   
5. The MSI laptop has a better screen resolution and faster ram.
