(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I'm looking for opinions on which laptops are good. I was currently thinking of a MacBook Pro, it has a 2.2 Gghz Processor with about 2 Gigabytes of Ram (from what I've read) and 250 Gigs of memory. The cost is $1200, what do you guys think? Are there better laptops than this out there? I will be mostly using this for school and general surfing, watching videos online, and e-mail.

I'm not an Apple Fanboy either, the MacBook Pro seems to be the best bang for my buck right now. Alienware is priced at $1000 though, is that any good?

If your looking for a laptop to use for school, don't buy a mac. I got a iMac pro for my birthday and it was horrible, IMO don't flame. The interface was nice and all but the software really is not that good to be using for school work. So to answer your question buy some form of alienware laptop.

Like i said, install windows. The alienware will constantly run out of battery because of the heavy hardware that is typically used for GAMING. The macbooks battery will last you much longer. If you are look for something a little inbetween the two. Try looking into an HP latop somewhere in the 800-900 dollar range.

Is OS X really that bad that I have to install Windows? I will install Microsoft Office but do I really have to get rid of OS X? The MacBook Pro seems to be my best bet right now. Like I said, I'll only use it for e-mail, surfing, doing projects, streaming media, and occasionally gaming.

I would honestly Dual-Boot (2 OS's) and you can have the best of both worlds.

I'm in your same Boat man. I was comparing a macBook Pro but with the configurations i wanted it'd be 2,293... I was also looking at an HP Envy 17. The battery life is SSSHIIIIIIITT... but the specs are better than the MBP. IMO i would rather run a Mac OSX on the Hp. I like the Mac OSX it's clean but some say windows 7 is nice aswell...
