Today in a conference in San Francisco, Mr Zuckerberg (The creator of Facebook) announced a new messaging system for Facebook that will be available for Facebook users in the next few months. The idea for this new messaging system that will allow Facebook users to communicate through the web or their phones regardless of wether they're using e-mail, text messages, or chat services.

Basically this new messaging system is supposed to make Facebook a complete communication system. The system will also allow you to prioritize friend's e-mails or e-mails from a company, making it a "social in-box." Many internet experts say that this new service that facebook is offering it's going to "kill" e-mail companies such as Microsoft, Yahoo, AOL, Google, but many others are skeptical about this for two reasons, number one being that Facebook is known for not having the best reputation when it comes to privacy, and number two being that some of Facebook ideas have failed in the past, like in 2007 when Mr Zuckerberg told the world of an ad system that was going to change ads in the internet, but by the end of 2007 the project was cancelled.

Right now Facebook Messages it's an invitation only service, that in a few months will be available to everyone. Facebook Messages will also let you get a @facebook.com address which will allow you to receive messages from outside facebook. Mr Zuckerberg said that the project is the biggest project the Facebook team has ever worked on. It took them 15 months and 15 engineers to make it.
