In this thread I will teach you how to get rid of an annoying rogue antivirus, System Tool 2011. This tricks you into thinking your computer has a bunch of viruses and asks you to pay for money, but this itself is a virus and if you pay you'll just get more viruses and they'll have your credit card info. I doubt most of you reading this have it at the moment but keep this bookmarked as it will save you a lot of money if you need to get rid of it.

I got this damned virus about two months ago and it was a nightmare. At first I thought my computer really was infected but later on I realized it was a rogue anti-virus. I ended up having to shell out $60 to HP. With this guide you want have to give any money. Just follow all the steps and you'll get that pesky virus removed in no time. (Btw a few months before this virus infected my computer I got a strange call from a Hindu guy saying he worked for "Online PC Solution". He was telling me how his company helps get rid of viruses and such. The main reason I knew it was a scam was because of my phone number. I asked him how he got my number and he said, "You registered your number with your computer." I replied, "Funny, seeing as though I got my laptop a year ago and only got my phone two weeks ago." Novice liars now a days :carling:. Anyway my main point is if you get a weird call from this company and they tell you your computer is infected, don't be surprised if you get the System Tool 2011 virus soon after.)

1. Start you PC up in "Safe Mode with Networking". To do this just keep tapping the F8 key upon start up. Then choose Safe Mode with Networking from the list.

2. Go on the admin account.

3. Now startup CCleaner. Analyze then once it finishes, click on Run Cleaner. This will make the rest of your work a lot easier.

4. Run RKill. This will automatically end all processes associated with infections.

5. Okay now that CCleaner has deleted a lot of unnecessary files you virus scans should go a little smoother. First go on Malwarebytes and let it do a "Full Scan" for infected files. After it has finished click "Remove All Files

6. Now run SuperAntiSpyware and let it do a "Complete Scan". Once this has finished scanning delete all the found files.

7. Now just restart your PC and System Tool 2011 should be gone .

-Get rid of this System Tool virus as fast as you can because it does slowly destroy your PC.

Go to the 'Programs to Download Page' and click on each and dload

I managed to get rid of it in 45 mins following a different guide. The guide I used made it look a lot less complex than this. I simply rank rkill without being in safe mode, renamed the virus files so that they wouldn't start on the boot up of the PC, did a Malwarebytes scan and I was done (I deleted the files after the scan).

Still good guide, I know it will help people.

i got this a couple of months ago, it was scary it wouldnt let me run and .exe programs and changed all my pictures and wallpapers to its own warning message. but safe mode FTW
