Google has announced Google chrome OS with Cr-48 Notebook. The very first Google Notebook or laptop Cr-48 is a 12.1-inch notebook running on Chrome OS. Google Chrome OS, not to be confused with browser is a next generation OS. We have already provided chromium OS by Hexxeh which is identical with Chrome OS. It is Linux based operating system or cloud computing system. It will be released in first half of 2011.
Google is giving away free Google Chrome Cr48 notebook/laptop to USA users. Google is running a test drive to try out the new operating system before the public release. As a part of the testing process you are responsible to provide feedback of the system. As a bonus you can get free Google Chrome Notebook.
There is no criteria for this program. Only USA residence can participate in this project. You have to tell them what kind of user you are. I guess selecting “Developer” or “Business” might increase your chance of selection.
