(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Right so im trying to move my motherboard and all its components from 1 case to another so i have a bigger case for my graphics card to fit in (currently have a tiny case lol)

so yeah i get the motherboard in the new case and everything, easy. Connect up the usb cables, easy. But i need to connect the power button and reset button on the new case to the motherboard so that i can switch it on. However, the power button cable (Power SW, im a bit of a computer noob) doesnt seem to have a socket to put into on my motherboard, with my other case it was a huge socket but with this new case the cable only has a small plug thing to put in, so how do i connect it? thanks

Some Pics:

My Current Case(the small one):

My New Case(bigger one):

The Small Power SW and Reset SW cables (the one controlling the power on and reset switches):

So I'll try and explain again using the pictures. I want to move the motherboard from the small case to the big case, however the Power SW and Reset SW plugs are smaller in the bigger case, so i dont know where to plug those in. If anybody knows how to plug em in/where to plug em in, post please? =)

If you still have your MoBo's manual you could use that to figure out exactly how the pins are laid out. These plugs will go in the same general spot as the large plug from the previous case, but their orientation and which pins they rest on are more important than with the big plug. As I said, the manual for your MoBo should have a diagram of the pins in it. If you no longer have the manual, I have yet to find a single MoBo manual that isn't available for free on the internet.

Like E0000 sayd, if you have ur mobos manual u can see the pic and locate where to conect them and positions etc, if not, tell me ur mobos model and manufacturer, that ill search a good pic for u so u know where to conect them

u bought a done computer or u bought parts and then mounted it?

The manual doesnt really help, just says the pins are where the current socket is, and there arent any others.

yeah that red circle, but the wires on the bigger case have smaller "plugs" than that socket. That's the best way i can describe it. Also my case says it should be compatible with the motherboard =S Also i know about buying stuff myself but i had no idea what was going on with comps when i bought it and i cant really afford to buy the stuff i want now lol

well if the plugs are different, on sizes and they dont fit... the only option u have is cut and put some tape :S if u can solder is better for a better conection if not just put a 3m isolant tape :S thats not hard at all and dont afect much - if they are diferent... - but u need to put + with + and - with - :P good luck - or if u are afraid - get ur comp to a comp tech
