After that you need to put the system into BOIS and chose "Boot Order" -> DVD Drive first. Then thats it, insert CD and follow the instructions Cool Man (aka Tustin)

Okay so after he burns it and sets the BIOS and boots it, will it install to his comp or will he have to run it with the CD in every time?

No Once the Computer installs the OS it will be fine, Make sure when its done installing to change the boot order to what it was before, to HDD, otherwise the computer will try to boot from a disc that may not be there.

My post on the previous page is a tut for changing boot order Smile

RIP PICHU.
I was beaten to it. Also, tell you friend to just use a disc to reformat his computer next time. He can wipe everything on it, then re-install the OS right after wiping it pretty much on the same screen. Much easier and faster.

He just uses the disc to boot up for the first time. After that he installs the operating system, he should go back to the bios to switch the hard drive to the front of the boot order. He doesn't need the disc. Do you know if he backed up his data?\

EDIT: Some guy answered it before me two posts. I should have checked.

Here is two guides. Switch win 7 with xp
