Post: How to Put "spaces" in Your Dock
04-17-2011, 08:21 PM #1
(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I put spaces in quotations because I do not mean the Spaces the Mac OS X utility. You must login or register to view this content.
This is what I mean by spaces: You must login or register to view this content. As you can see there is a space between Finder and Mac App Store. Here's how to do it:

1. Open Terminal.

2. Paste this command Terminal: defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add '{"tile-type"="spacer-tile";}'

3. Then in Terminal type: killall Dock (the capital D does matter)

4. Now you will have a space in your dock, you can move it to wherever you want.

5. For more that one space, repeat steps 1-4.

That's all folks. This is not a hack of any sort, it is just more of a hidden feature. If you guys like this one, I can do more hidden tips within Terminal.

It's a awesome way to organize your applications. Rather than just having all of them clumped together.
