Tutorial On How To Download Movies and How to Navigate The Site

What will be in this tutorial?

The tutorial will be broken down into two sections.

Section 1 and section 2



Section 1

In This section i am going to be showing some of the basic features of thepiratebay.org
It will include what ceratin things mean on the site... who to trust to download from and who not to.


Section 2

Here i will be giving an example of downloading a movie.


What you will need
1. To Know What Movie You Want
2. thepiratebay.org
3. Torrent Client (uTorrent, bitTorrent etc. I would recomend Vuze)
4. K-Lite Codec (torrent it after the tutorial xD)
5. VLC player or Windows Media Player Classic

Section 1.


1. Go To your internet browser and type in thepiratebay.org This is one of the most popular torrent sites. When you've pressed enter you should get this page.

This Is the main sub pages on the main page. I will explain these in further detail below. I have colour coded this.

Green Box - Browse Torrents -
Below is what it looks like when you click on "Browse Torrents" As you can see you have a large slection of options to choose from.
You can find e-books, movies, tv shows, music, operating systems, applications etc.

Black Box - Recent Torrents -
Here is what it looks like when clicked on "Recent Torrents". This is where the torrents that have just been uploaded by a user are posted.

Blue Box - TV Shows -
Here is what it looks like when clicked on "TV Shows". This is the section of where TV Series are. You can download from here or you can search manually for them
because you are more likely to get a better quality rip when searched.

Pink Box - Music -
Here is what it looks like when clicked on "Music". This gives you many different types of Genres to browse from. So take your pick.

Purple Box - Top 100 -
Here is what i looks like when you first click on "Top 100" Now it looks similar to when you click on "browse Torrents" but these will be the top 100 of each section.

"Total Top 100" is what you want to click on.
Here you will see the most popular downloaded movies, applications, music etc.

Whilst going through these steps. You may see These Two things on everything.

Highlighted in Red is the amount of Seeders and amount of Leechers or SE and LE.
Seeders means the amount of people sharing their download
Leechers means the amount of people downloading.

For a faster download you generally want more Seeders than Leechers. This is because you can be downloading parts of the movie from there computer aswell.

So in order to find a high amount of Seeders you can click on SE and this will sort it to the most amount of Seeders.

The other part which is highlighted in Blue is information about the Torrent.

Each one of the Icons means something. Here is a list in order from left to right.
1. Downloadable Torrent
2. Magnet link incase download link is broken.
3. Torrent Contains comments.
4. Torrent contains a cover picture
5. Uploader is a "helper"
6. Uploader is "Trusted"
7. Uploader is a "VIP"[/size]

The majority of the time, any of the uploaders whom have a type of skull and crossbones next to there name, generally means it is a safe download.



Section 2.
This is going to be my demonstration of downloading a movie.

Step 1.
Go to the piratebay.org

Step 2.
Type in a Movie in the search bar. In this case im going to type "Harold and Kumar" (without Quotations).

Step 3.
As i want a fast download i have ordered it by SE (seeders). As you can see here the first torrent is
"Harold and Kumar Escape From Fuantanamo Bay. Unrated.DVDRip.xvi" . The user is Trusted as he has a pink skull
and there are 172 SE and 9 LE. If that is the one you want you click on the title.

Step 4.
Once cliked, you should get this page. It has the comments and description of the torrent you are downloading. DO NOT PRESS THE BIG DOWNLOAD BUTTON.
Press the smaller one which i boxed, for your download to start.

Step 5.
When you have clicked download now this will pop up. Depening on your Torrent downloader application it will be a different icon. But otherwise
Press open.

Step 6.
After pressing open, your torrent application should open and will show you what you are download. Mine here shows the speed, the amount of seeders and leechers
i am currently connecting to and the estimated time the download will be finished.

Step 7.
When your movie has finished downloading browse to Library. This lists all your movies that you will have downloaded.

Step 8.
Right click on the torrent and click open folder.

Step 9.
This then opens the folder in where it is saved, you can move it to wherever you wish.

Just double click and your movie should now be playing.

Actuall, if you read it i use the piratebay as an example. Its not just a tutorial on the pirate bay, its how to download the movies...

RATS are good, especially ZEUS or cybergate... anyways if you actually read this post, it explains if your downloading from trusted members with the skulls its generally safe.

i wasnt laughing at that. i know some are generally safe. but p2p is horrible but nice tut for torrents

I agree some of the time it can bee but always used "sandybox" xD to run anything first loool
