Post: My computer lost the .avi file format somehow.

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I don't know what happened, but I don't have a .avi file format. I used to have it but now all of them are converted to .mpeg 4 or .mp4.

Now when I download files they are automatically saved as .mp4 or .mpeg4.mp4

Oh and btw I also got this weird file format called .sfk (I think) at the end of one of my .mp3

It had 2 files on my desktop.

BlahBlahBlah.mp3 (AND) BlahBlahBlah.sfk.mp3

I think it was .sfk or .slk

----

I also think some of my file formats are lost

not familiar with .sfk or .slk did u download or install any video/media player recently, and try opening up the .sfk file and tell me wht happens.

Maybe you pressed a button on a program or in your settings to where files are downloaded to mp4

How do you know, Thats what happened when I installed Sony Vegas. As soon as I installed Sony Vegas Pro 8 that happened and I lost my .avi file format.

o0o when ever you like save a file in Vegas it saves a backup in SFK version so if you open a Sony in Vegas it will automatically make SKF's i dunno about the png but the SFK's i know

... just open it with the other software you used and i'll be fine, i say just let them be mpeg4..
AVI take a lot of disc space, mpeg4 doesn't

2 true. i have a 2 second video in avi format that takes up 18mb lol
