(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); These are a good way of testing out new features, beta testing them and helping the development of your favourite internet browsers.

They're surprisingly stable, I personally use Firefox Nightly 8.0a1 (Was 7 before yesterday) for all my browsing.

Chrome:

You must login or register to view this content.

Just go here and choose which build and what operating system you want it for, Dev is the latest, currently 14.x.xxx.x, beta is 13.x.xxx.x and stable is 12. The canary builds are the dev builds but install alongside existing chrome installations so you can have two.

Firefox:

You can get the aurora and beta builds from here, including mobile beta builds.

You must login or register to view this content.

Aurora is 2 versions above stable, currently at 7, beta is 1 version above stable so is currently 6.

Then there's the nightly builds, these are 3 versions above stable and are currently at 8
You must login or register to view this content.

Yet another type of build is the firefox-ux builds, these are the most bleeding edge builds usually for new features that may or may not be implemented, you can get them at You must login or register to view this content.

Then there's opera, I've been trying out 12 which has recently come out, it's actually pretty good.
Opera is a good browser if you have a slow internet connection and/or have a low bandwidth cap due to the opera turbo feature, which compresses pages increasing speed and saving bandwidth.

You can get the opera next builds at You must login or register to view this content.

Then there's chromium, this is an open source project of which google chrome is based off of, this is basically chrome with googles crap not added to it, highly recommend all chrome users to at least try.

You must login or register to view this content.

You can get pre-built versions of it there, but you can read all about compiling it and getting the source code at You must login or register to view this content.

I've tried out Aurora. It's a pretty decent web browser. Although it is the exact same as Firefox, it just has one or two features that I never use, and much more frequent updates.

Most of it won't seem apparent to people, especially if you don't read the documentation about it, or push/changelogs.

The later versions of firefox are extremely better at HTML5, scoring 300+ on html5test.com whilst firefox 5 is around 220, the javascript and CSS engines are also a lot more up to date and run a lot smoother with more bugs fixed.

Another major difference is nightly and aurora have recently acquired an engine or something called azure, which basically allows full use of the GPU on your machines which makes HD streaming of videos run extremely smooth and any other GPU-Intensive tasks to run a lot smoother and better.

It's links to where you can find beta and development versions of certain web browsers.. these are just versions available to the public before the final release, so you can test out new features and functionality.
