(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); hey guys, a couple of days ago i decided to grab my old desktop and pull it apart so i can upgrade some of the components (something which i have never tried before). Now, i have managed to remove the majority of components but im faced with two problems which are a pain in the ass.

1. i am having trouble removing my power supply. i have disconnected it completely from all components but i cannot disconnect it from the motherboard. i have tried many times with my dad but the socket wont disconnect. I am worried that if i pull to hard i could damage or even break the motherboard. can anyone give me advice for how i could remove it safely?

here is the socket i am talking about, (just above where the ram goes)

and

2. the next problem i face is removing the optical drives. I have completely disconnected them from the powersupply and unscrewed them from their sockets but when we go to pull them out they wont budge, they move a tiny bit but we cant remove them more than a 1/4 of the way out. Any suggestions on how i can remove them?

sorry for the poor image but heres one to give you an idea of how the drives are placed

sorry if these are stupid questions but this is my first time and im still learning

Considering that computer is shit it wouldn't be much of a loss no offense. To remove the power supply, press and hold the tab on the connector then pull upward. To remove the drives, you will have to remove the outer screws, some times the other side of the computer comes off with the older ones which you can get to the others. Odds are there is a couple more screws.
