Hey, I've been reading online for the past couple hours, and it hasn't done anything but confuse me more. What I'm trying to do is get my computer screen on my tv.

I have a male VGA cable in my computer, but there is no VGA port for my TV. I tried looking at VGA to HDMI cables because I have alot of HDMI ports on my 40" Emerson flat screen TV, but I couldn't figure out if I would need a converter to use that cable.

I was reading the manual for the TV, and the only thing I see remotely close to what I'm trying to do is S-video. Would this be my only option for this TV, and if not what else could I possibly use?

Someone please let me know the best suggestion for this problem!

I used a S-video cable. But it has no audio. Your only other option would be HDMI but i doubt that both you tv and computer have the ports.

i think this is what youre looking for https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002TUC64W

EDIT: nevermind thats not possibe.. look at this https://mobile.walmart.com/ip/Aluratek-VGA-to-HDMI-Converter-Adapter/11997632

I'm just curious? How old is you T.V. and what brand is it? Im wondering because most T.V.'s have a VGA port. Also, you could use a S-video cable and for sound just have speakers plugged into your tower.

Yeah, that's probably what I'll end up doing. Temporary solution I guess. Smile

Your best bet is VGA to HDMI.
My TV says it can't support PC but I hooked it up with HDMI and it works.

Moved to the correct section. :y:

It's a bit weird that your TV doesn't have a VGA input, mine has like 2 of those. Also bare in mind that if you are to use a converter, you'd lose the HDMI sound, as VGA is only picture.

Yeah, it was originally in this section. Then connor moved it to the dumpster 'cause he thought I got permabanned. Then re-opened it in the wrong spot. Haha /facepalm

But thanks for the info.
