that's why they include an sli connector!!

Apparently you didn't read / understand my post. You were never able to SLI 2 DIFFERENT cards as in you couldnt SLI an 8800GT and a 8600GT they had to be the same where as Crossfire allowed 2 ati cards to work as long as they were in the same family, so for instance 5770 and a 5750 would work.

I haven't read anywhere that this was changed since those days. So that was more or less a question in either, why would you waste money on an expensive physx card if that was the case, or when did they allow you to do that.

Reading, it's really not that hard

Hey, don't insult me. Use better grammer to make it easier to understand. (stare see what I did there?)

and yeah you can between 2 diff cards because, newegg did a showcase of a GTX 580 + GTX 570 that were SLI'd.

AMD/ATI are gay like that and have to be same card lmfao.

BTW: ATI cards that are connected are called crossfire I think, and Nvidia are SLI.

maybe it's xfire or something like that I don't remember.

EDIT: his gfx cards are both in 500's family. your post makes no sense.

You shouldn't have two different graphics cards.

Anyways, unless you are using it as a workstation, you are just wasting money because you will never use 10% of that hardware doing anything else

He can use both cards for nvidia surround which is the same thing as Eyefinity which is what ATI would call it

No.

ATI requires two cards in the same family. As in a 6970 and a 6950 would work together.

NVIDIA requires you to have THE EXACT SAME card. As in ONLY a GTX 580 would work with a GTX 580. You can't have a 570 AND a 560 working together. One will go to waste.

Surround isn't SLI though, you are just wasting hardware at that point
