(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); So my Acer was having problems quite sometime back. I found that the problem was to remove the video card. Did that now just about a week ago it has once again gave me powering up issues except now it boots up but there is no display. I thought it was a bad Power Supply so I bought a new one online got it just today and still the same problem. I'm not sure what to try now. What do you guys think the problem is? Any help appreciated.

UPDATE: Just tried turning on and running the computer with only the Power Supply and all basic necessities connected. The fan is on but still no display or beeps giving aid into describing an error. I am clueless at this point to what the problem is.

This is due to a burnt out motherboard. This seems to be a problem amongst acer motherboards, as I have seen 3 computers in the past 2 weeks, including my gaming rig, that have experienced the same problem. The computer boots up, fans come on, HDD spins up, but there is no display. Nothing. All 3 had acer motherboards installed. This could be due to overclocking too high, power surge, or many other causes. Although the motherboard is working enough to get power to everything, it is either not properly working with the CPU, not properly working with the Graphics card, or a combination of the two.

In short it will power things up, but will not communicate with them. Depending on your needs, replacing a motherboard can be inexpensive. In some cases though, especially for gaming rigs, a motherboard should be a big part of your investment in the machine, sometimes costing as much as a couple hundred dollars or more.

Damn, was hoping it wasn't that. Well it wasn't for gaming just a home desktop so looks like I'll be searching for a new one eventually. Thanks man :y:

If it's just for a home computer then you can go pretty cheap. Just make sure the new motherboard supports your RAM, CPU, and HDD. If the HDD is PATA connection, then you will have to make sure the new board has a PATA connector. If the drive is SATA, then most boards will have that. Same goes for the disc drive. Figure out whether it is PATA or SATA.

Also make sure that, if you don't have separate graphics card, the motherboard you get has built in graphics. Not all motherboards do.

Hope all goes well.

Yeah, its SATA, I'm going to just sell it to my friend. He needs one right now so I don't mind helping him out with that. For the rest of the parts, I might just invest them into the next Desktop if it already doesn't have decent specs. And yeah, I'm sure everything will be OK.
