(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have had my Acer Aspire T180 for a few years now, its a standard PC nothing special and has no problems running the main things I used (internet, word ect) but these programs are becoming more power consuming and I think its time I upgraded the PC.
I can not afford an entire new PC so thats out of the question.

Current Specs: Processor AMD AM2 Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core 3800 + 2.4GHz (940 pin)
RAM: 2GB DDR2 (Came with 1 GB)
OS: 32bit Windows 7 Ultimate. (Came with Windows Vista Home)
HD 180GB standard sata HDD
Graphics: Standard video card built into the motherbard

I need a few upgrades to handle some newer programs.
Anyone suggest a new CPU and any decent RAM/graphis card to buy that are compatable and wouldn't require a BIOS flash?

Do not get 2gb ram. You WILL regret it.

Does your motherboard have a PCie x16 slot? If not then your very limited to what you can do in terms of graphics.

What is your computer's power supply?

Then you need to upgrade that stinky 250Watt PSU since dedicated graphics are almost out of the question since a GPU from like 2001 requires 300 watts.

But really your PC is outdated now. The setup above will bottleneck with DDR2 memory clocked at 800mhz and an old AMD CPU isn't really helping.
