(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I have saved up a lot of money and am looking forward to buying a new computer. I need a computer that can handle lots and lots of space and is very fast. I use numerous programs that are used for 3d graphics and computer programming. Ive used the dell and its been able to handle everything very well, but I plan on creating a videogame once I am done learning the game development course I am learning online and I plan on making large programs once I finish learning C#. I found a cool computer online called alienware and thought that, that would be a pretty good computer to use, but I wanted some opinions on what I should get. Im willing to go from $1000-2000, but I rather stay below 1000 if I can. I dont need nothing to flashy, im just looking for a really good computer that meets my needs.

if i were you i would never buy a computer from a store they are overpriced what i would do is build my own its simple and easy to do all you need to do is see what components you need for your programing needs such as a gaming graphics card or a c.a.d. graphics card
also you might look at what components alienware uses in there systems or similar ones (i know they used to make there own proprietary components but im not sure anymore) and check out the prices on newegg you will be amazed at how they screw you when you can do it yourself and save half the cash most of the time

If you are not comfortable making a PC. You can purchase one from a website that assembles it for you for around $100.

In all honesty however, it would be better to purchase parts yourself and build it. Dell isn't great in my opinion, and they come with really weak power supplies meaning they aren't very up-gradable. Obviously you can upgrade the PSU, but then you spend more money etc. etc.

Or websites like iBuypower.

So if I build my own...I will mot likely have a better computer set to my standards and it will be less than how much I would pay for a regular computer? As I said in my post I was checking out the alienware laptop, and I must say it is really nice looking and looks very well put together and is ment for graphics and thats one thing I plan on programming at the moment. The price for the alienware computer I want is $2000 including the protection plan...So would I be better off building my own and save more money?

Send me the link. I never realized you wanted a laptop. Look at these laptops right here:

Edit: I just took a look at their laptops, it looks like they are actually BETTER than the prices of the ones that I have listed.

Send me the link of the laptop you are looking at please.

The link of the actual laptop itself lol.

From research so far I can somewhat say that if you really want to buy a laptop, Alienware is a good option now since their prices have dropped somewhat. Although it's hard for me to recommend them because I like to build my own and I have traditionally hated Alienware.

But it seems like they are okay now...

FATAL SYSTEM ERROR!
I agree with Millz59. Basically, build your own desktop, if you want a laptop, Alienware is a decently good brand for gaming laptops. But just for your consideration, you'd be getting more bang for your buck if you built your own desktop. If you're still unsure, do some research. I recommend NewEgg. They have sales quite often so it will be very easy to save money and they sell basically everything.

Hope this helped! <Happy

Problem with Alienware is customization and parts, if you need a replacement for something, expect big bucks alone where as you can find something a lot easier to put back in if it was Intel or AMD.

---
It's cheaper to just look up the specs for Alienware and then custom build one that matches or is even better for less, what you are paying for with Alienware is the name brand, the led lights and the extra fancy crap, everything else is just regular hardware that is good.

You can get a great case at times for about 79.99 with a great power supply or motherboard at times, (My dad bought one not long ago, got the case and motherboard for about 90 bucks, original cost was about 250. They were selling out of the item as they were getting a whole new line in of cases)
