Does it have a system backup, or do you just want the disk?

Apparently the new macs don't come with disks because they have a pre installed back up system, you download a installer off apple support and then burn it to a external drive if you dont want to pay for lion again .

What year is your imac? If it is from 2011 you are in luck. It has something called recovery hd. All you have to do is shut down your imac, then turn it on while holding command+r till you see the apple logo. Then it should ask you where you want to install lion. Hope this helps.
