(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); The GTX 690 was announced by NVIDIA on Saturday, April 28th, 2012 and will be launched Thursday, May 3rd, 2012. Powered by two Kepler GPUs, this card equals the graphics power of two GTX 680s in SLI. This one hell of a beast comes at a price tag of a whopping $999. The specs are as follows:

CUDA Cores: 3072
Base Clock: 915 MHz
Boost Clock: 1019 MHz
Memory Configuration: 4GB / 512-bit GDDR5
Memory Speed : 6.0 Gbps
Power Connectors: 8-pin + 8-pin
TDP: 300W
Outputs: 3x DL-DVI
Mini-DisplayPort: 1.2
Bus Interface: PCI Express 3.0

This chart shows that the GTX 690 is on average 75% faster then the GTX 680

The GTX 690 is made with cast aluminum and is supposed to look like an F1 engine block with its raw metal look and exposed fin stacks.

Worth the Weight
I want NVIDIA to release their REAL successor to the 580, because the 680 uses GK104 which isn't as good as GK110. The 680 should have been the 660ti, but they upped it a bid and sold it to compete with AMD's 7970 because NVIDIA has a few things up their sleeve and knew that they could cut a corner...

GTX 685. I want nao.
