(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); Hey there, i have decided that i want a desktop since my laptop is slow, despite only been about 6 months old. I am building my own computer and want knowledge from you guys about which particular product you would choose for each component and why. This is for the UK so please base prices around UK suppliers e.g. scan, aria, ebuyer, amazon, pcspecialist. Would prefer it to be intel not AMD based but if you reckon the AMD is better for the same/cheaper price then please note this down in your response.

I am wanting:

A case (Up to £50/60 - want it to look fancy but doesnt have to be special)
Processor (I want this to be very quick, the main factor in me constructing a custom build)
Motherboard (I have no idea about motherboards.......)
Hard Drive (Looking for 1TB minimum)
Memory/RAM (2x 4GB?)
Graphics Card (Doesn't have to be the best, just able to play most games on high-max settings)
CPU Cooler
PSU (Modular please)
DVD/CD drive (doesnt have to be blu-ray but would be nice to have blu-ray under £20)

Anything else that i have missed out (most likely), please include in your response.

Here is one suggestion i have received so far: You must login or register to view this content.

Cheers for any responses, help and suggestions that i may receive, Jomow.

From what I can tell you can get a much faster with more memory 600 dollar desktop than you can a with a 600 laptop. What makes laptops so expensive is that they are portable.
