external graphics cards arn't very good and overheat, die alot, u need a pci slot to connect the graphics card aswell and im guessing you want to game and if you do just build a gaming desktop since laptops are prone to overheating and when that happens they die, it will also decimate the battery life but if you must you could get a 7850 since it will be energy efficacious and you will need to keep the laptop plugged in or it will die and destroy the battery

yea, definately the best option is to either build your own desktop pc or buy one gaming pc. laptops suck for gaming and my laptop is almost near to his dead, just for doing normal stuff he gets really warm, because it is bad built, now the wireless board is almost dead from what i can see, internet fails a lot on this pc.
