Really depends for everyday use mac or editing but if you plan on gaming or using alot of programs from here windows. then again mac has boot camp, which means you can run windows aswell.I have an imac and I love it. only downside you could built a pc for half the price of my imac and it would be twice as powerful

Worth the Weight
Editing companies are starting to move away from Macintosh computers. Final Cut is no longer the industry standard anymore. CS6 is a much better suite of applications for editing and paired up with something even a little more simple like Sony Vegas it's difficult to compete with.

There's almost no point to purchasing Apple's desktops anymore. They are not powerful enough to deal with real editing, or real gaming. The screen on the other hand is nice, and people often forget that the screen they use on the iMac retails for $1,000 alone.

But you can still build a more powerful computer for $1,000 and buy a 2560x1440 screen for the other thousand and have it cost as much as the iMac.

In terms of ease of use, people argue that OS X is easier to use. I find it impossible. Windows has got the taskbar down. OS X has this weird bar at the top which changes for each application you are running. And when you minimize it, it goes to the dock.

Build yourself a windows machine, you won't be sorry.

One could argue that Windows is a more versatile and cost-efficient operating system, but the verdict is truly based on what you intend to use the computer for (and of course, your budget). I would personally suggest for you to simply build your own Windows-based computer; greater power for lesser cost should definitely seem appealing.
