I'll tell you right now that the best idea is to use Avast or MSE in unison with Malwarebytes PRO. I have been doing this for years on all of my computers, and it's always worked for me like a charm.

I have to agree with Money Bag, I had a pc crash back before I knew much about them (about 5 years ago) and we had a guy at church who works for fire dog or what ever it was called... sort of like geek squad. Anyways he came over and fixed it and they had got some free copies of Kaspersky from work so her gave me one andI've been using it ever since. Its not free, but you get what you pay for.

Avast is pretty good. If you have windows Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) is good too.
