Ok. So as the title says, I am looking for some help on a project I'm working on. This project, is actually me building a mini fridge out of a computer case. Yes, I know, this sounds a bit strange. But, I saw someone who built this previously and thought it looked like something cool to do. I will most likely create an in depth tutorial on how I go about building this with lots of pictures later, just for all of you who might be interested.
Now, for my actual questions. I don't know how many real experts we'll have on this site in this kind of stuff, but it is worth a shot to see what some of you guys might know about this stuff.
Question 1: I would like to take the current usb ports in the computer and still be able to get use of them. I will have no actual computer components in the case aside from a psu, so this could be a bit tricky. Essentially, I want to set them up to simply be usb charge ports (for a smartphone, tablet, etc). I'm a bit unsure of how I should go about this, and I couldn't really find (didn't look all that hard yet) any solid tutorials for a good way to convert the usb port to run directly from the power supply.
Question 2: Ok, this next question is gonna be a bit vague, as I haven't even decided how I'm going to go about this yet. But basically, I want to set up a servo inside the case to come on when the power button is pressed. I'm assuming that the power button in the case holds a current through it while it is pressed in and releases the current once the button is left off of. So, I assume it would be possible to set up a servo to run while the button is held in. My big issue here is how I want to power it. I won't need a very large servo (just one that can move a can of monster, as I am making this kinda like a vending machine). Will I be able to power this from a pc power supply? Or are there no ports on a psu that would output a small enough amount of power for such a menial task? Also, if it is possible to wire up, how would you go about doing this? (I'm not exactly a pro electrician haha)
Question 3: You were probably wondering how I plan to cool this case down to standard refrigeration temperatures. Well I'm going to be doing that with peltier units. Specifically, 2 of
You must login or register to view this content.. Now, from what I can see in the pictures, it appears to just have a two pin dc connector. Which is not something I'll have on a psu. So what connector am I going to want to try to run this with instead? (I haven't bought a psu yet, so a lot of my questions are surrounding the connectors it will need to have on it as you can tell)
I think those are all of my questions for now. I may continue to add them as I run into trouble with things. If anyone has actually built something similar to this before or has a bit of expertise with any of these concepts and would like to help me out, feel free to message me on here and I will get back to you asap with some better contact info to get ahold of me. His project description was rather vague for this project, which kinda sucks for me going forward with mine. Particularly because he didn't go into much about his peltiers and how he wired them.
Well I think that's about it. Any help is much appreciated. And as I said, I will most likely be posting up a thread soon with more details on the build and go into a more step-by-step tutorial of how I do everything.

Edit: I have found a solution to my third question. I have to wire up the peltier leads to the black and yellow lines of a molex 4 pin connector. Which seems simple enough.
Edit#2: Considering solving my first question by ripping apart an old usb wall charger. I should then be able to take the board and connect the 12v molex leads to the connection points from the wall and then just output that to my usb ports.
