I am new to macs and I just got a MacBook Pro.

One of the selling points was that you don't need to buy antivirus software, and I was confused about this so I was wondering does that mean I cannot get a virus on my mac meaning that no matter what I download it will be safe? Because on here there are some non-premium download stuff which I am hesitant to download as they could break my new macbook, also surly there is virus for windows on the internet what if I try to download one of them what will it say? (I'm looking for an answer to a few of these questions and a little explanation THANKYOU)

Also is there a way on transferring all my music, pictures etc etc onto my Macbook from my windos laptop without buying a external harddrive, keeping in mind my music is illegally downloaded :/

THANKYOU AGAIN FOR ANY HELP!

For the most part macs are virus free meaning they can get viruses but its like a 1% chance because most viruses are on pc only because it i easier to make a virus for pc and since its more popular people tend to target pc users. As for you music try using something like dropbox its a free file sharing site so just get a free account and upload you music to the site then download it again from your mac.
