(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); WOO Arma 3 has been announced for a bit now.

I plan on buying it tomorrow because I know it will be excellent and since its alpha its CRAZY cheap. Anyone else have it or have any comments? Anyone want to buy it with me so we can play?

Also does anyone know how Day-z will work? I heard it will be a separate game now but does this mean I have to pay extra for Day-z? Uggh hope not Happy

Arma 3 Alpha is amazing, I love it, it's hard to go back to non realistic shooters. That being said, it's plagued by non-optimizations like it's younger brother, it's not running the way it should on my OCed 7950. That being said, it's a lot of fun and the mod support will be crazy. And Day-Z will be a standalone based on the engine used in Arma 2 I believe, but it will have more stuff added that is seen in the Arma 3 Alpha.

I do hope they fix those "non-optimizations" for the beta and full-game. Its ok if it is plagued with problems, as long as it shows great potential and realistic physics/graphics from their game engine, it can be promising. Remember it is only an alpha. And an alpha is far away from the quality of the actual game.

By non-optimizations I mean that for some reason the game doesn't use more than like 40% of the GPU for some reason. And that was the same way in Arma 2 I believe, so I'm hoping they attempt to do something.

Was looking to get this a few days ago - worth buying at the moment, or wait until full release?

I have to say get it now. Because we all know this game will be excellent. It clearly states you get beta and the full game for free when they come out. It is really cheap for a more than brand new game especially of its caliber. I say get it now because it is known it will be great and the only thing that is going to hurt you is the price when it goes up.
