Are you upgrading with a USB or cd?

Restart computer and eject everything you're not using and try again...

I didnt trust the USB way, so i used a different method. I installed Daemon tools and i mounted the .iso image to the virtual drive and installed it that way. Ive had windows 8 for a month or 2 now, plus i have the activation program to activate it to Windows 8 Pro.

Okay, thank you for your support ATM I haven't accessed my PC but there is nothing wrong with the windows 8 copy I have at the moment. Cause I previously used it already & another thing could any of you peeops link me to a windows 8 activator. I think what the problem is that I have devices plugged into my pc so I'm going to try unplugging my headseat,keyboard & mouse

Sometimes you have to use the slower usb ports. Ran into that problem recently. If you use the USB 3.0 ports for some reason the default drivers won't always activate the device. If you use the USB 2.0 port(s) then it works fine.
