Post: AMD Raedon HD 6670 Crashing on FarCry 3

(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); SO I have a Raedon HD 6670. Works fine, works nicely on most games I play(Can usually run on High settings)

But when I try to play Far Cry 3 the game crashes my card and I get a blue screen and have to restart the computer.

No error messages or anything. After I updated to the latest Catalyst driver(11.x or something.) which seemed to work for most people. Did not work for me however.

How can I fix this so I can play Farcry? I'm attempting to reinstall the game, then remount the card.

What is the BSOD error that you are getting? Have you monitored the cards temperatures? It could be possible that the latest release is glitchy for that game, AMD does have some driver problems like Nvidia too. I remember updating my drivers and Bf3 would crash constantly so I ended up rolling them back. Try doing a driver rollback (or by now if a new version is out, try that first).

Today Will Be Different
Millz pretty much stated it. Most new drivers are optimized towards newer games and sometimes cause an issue with prior games. See if you can find the particular driver that AMD released for Far Cry 3 and run it until a stable release comes out for the latest driver. Things like this happen all the time.

Hell with one of the latest Nvidia drivers I was getting some serious artifacting on BF3. tears
