Which one do you think you would prefer, give pros and cons. I have more than enough to purchase. Don't give me any, why not buy a desktop bullshit. I'm buying a desktop later this year in November when the sales go on, I'm looking for a decently beefed up laptop for being on the go.

One has an i7 with a 500GB HDD, while the other has an i5 with a 750B HDD. Decide what you want, stronger performance in rendering/multithreaded apps, or more hard drive space.

Since you said you have more than enough money, I would suggest getting this computer if you can spare the extra $70. The reason I suggest this one is that it has Haswell (extremely good battery performance), and that it has a full 1080p screen instead of a subHD screen. Also, is has a 740M instead of a 730M.

Problem adding 70$ is that here in California after tax, that becomes a 850$. 750-800$ at most though, even with having extra. I'm still in the need of buying a new keyboard/mouse + a proper backpack.

I can see a 4th gen i7 being nice and the 740 being great but I've always had a thing against the toshiba brand; just very bad experiences with them in the past, although I hear they have cleaned themselves up a bit more in recent times.

I'll keep it on the back of my mind, I'm not purchasing until late July/early August since I'm probably leaving for Vegas for a week, ^_^

Don't forget dat 1080p screen though Winky Winky

And I hear ya, I had a Toshiba laptop that was garbage, but back in 2009 apparently Toshiba and Asus were ranked as being the most reliable brands in the laptop business. Frankly, the chances of having two fail is extremely slim. I since made the switch to using Apple laptops (which are overpriced) however have not been wanting to look back.

Apple makes good hardware, they are just overpriced for what they are. Their OS is incredibly stable it's just not versatile enough.

Yea, 1080p would be nice but you know that the human eye can't really see all the detail differences between 720 and 1080p. It's just a bit of a sharper image.

What's bad though is that laptop does not have a battery you can change, most likely they are using a special battery that you can't go and buy to replace. Essentially in 2 years it would make the laptop worthless to go mobile with. The other ones I can buy a new battery for about 100$ at most.

Toshiba is getting better but nah, just wanting to stay away from them. Asus tends to make laptops with cheaper cases but good hardware, kinda a tradeoff. MSI and Acer seems to be lightly more expensive but they make computers that are well built to last.

Besides, most these screens are not 1080p they are 1080i and most use software enhancements so they are really 720. It won't have bluray in it so the most I will get is 480p with movies and the 1080p would be more of a battery drain than the 720.

And yet you disregard my previous comments about how much of an issue I've had with Toshiba in the past, and might I include, friends and other persons I know.

Toshiba is getting better but it's still a brand that lost a lot of my respect.

Again, I never even said "support". I'm talking about the company. Not Happy or Sad
