On Newegg you can get a i5-4670K for $20 extra, and get this: You must login or register to view this content. I know it's a bit dearer... but trust me, it's worth it! All the rest looks pretty awesome, although it's up to you if you want a Haswell or not... they run a bit hotter than Ivy Bridge!

I'm 100% new to building PC's and i dont know what you mean by Haswell...
I did take your advice for the i5 and the motherboard, i know everyone says you should save money and get an i5, but would it be worth it to get an i7?

Have you looked into AMD 8 core builds, a lot of my friends who are building desktop gaming computers with a budget are building their desktops with AMDs due to reliability and cost efficiency. They are getting the 6 core though for just a bit more you can pick up an 8 core.

Well, you'd need to work your build around the compatibility with the AMD but for the most part; people are finding that AMD is somewhat more reliable compared to Intel although Intel, for the cost, can be a better system.

I'll try and get my friend's builds as one built his for about 1k and plays most games in max setting w/ great fps.

I was going to buy an AMD based system, but I heard that a lot of systems had overheated and, well died! I got an Intel i5- 3350S or something like that. Haswell is the 4th generation Intel Core processors. If you were to get an i7, would it be a the unlocked version, e.g. the 3770k? If so, the 4770K is $339 and the 3770K is $319 on newegg, really it's up to you... do you need an i7?

Drop the second kit of ram to and the large cooler and the the sabertooth. Get a regular priced z87 a h60 cooler and a 770 and your good. Amd is better for smaller budgets like $750
