Both WD and Seagate produce Hard Drives that fail. I have a 3TB one that has been going strong since the day I got it, and a 1TB WD Black as well. I like both of their products and even if one of them would fail I would not hold it against them. Hitatchi and Toshiba on the other hand are god-awful with hard drives. Literally every one I have had from them has failed.

Many people jump on the Intel bandwagon, not hating on Intel at all. They're good but expensive, if you're gaming and do general day to day stuff on your computer, like browsing the internet, watching a movie, just general stuff then buy AMD. If you're gonna do stuff like video editing, rendering and gaming then buy Intel.

Yeah i will be doing more then just gaming so i am sticking with Intel :p

Clicking, which I've experience with both Western Digital and Seagate is normal. All mechanical drives click, now if the system freezes and the clicking becomes louder then you're having an issue. I've talked to many people about mechanical drives and they'll all say them same thing out of experience. They'll also say that Western Digital and Seagate are comparable companies. :p

It depends on load from what I remember. It's usually the actuator arm that produces the sound, after drives age and wear down or under extreme workload they'll slam into the stopper and it produces a click.

Can't be bothered to explain it all but there are a multitude of things that cause it, I know with my old WD drive is that the head went bad and it couldn't detect where it was on the platter and it would slam back and forth until it died. I have never been so pissed in my life until that happened. tears

Try gluing some thin rubber washers in a drive bay and put it in . Should stop some viberations
