Hey Guys, I bought my gaming laptop about 2 months ago now, at first it worked great. Last night it worked great. But the graphics card sort of took a dump all over my computer.
Was playing Battlefield 3 last night just fine, running 70 - 90 frames
and I just tried starting up to play a second ago and the Nvidia Geforce 650M 2gb litteraly runs at 30 to 40 frames. The integrated graphics run Battlefield better now.
I checked my global settings, it's set to the nvidia, checked the game detailing, it's on high still didn't get changed to ultra somehow.
Can anyone tell me why it's running so slow and give me ideas on how to fix it?
You sure that you didn't accidentally check some MSAA setting? That can really make games tank in FPS sometimes. If not, then I would think that there is something wrong with the drivers of the card. Try downloading the latest version of drivers for your respective GPU off of the NVIDIA website located here:

If that doesn't seem to work either, then it could just be an instance where some power savings on the laptop kicked in or something. I know that my old laptop would sometimes act like this (poor performance in general) when I woke it up from sleep mode, and it could only be fixed by a system reboot. Check your laptops power settings and make sure that it is on high performance. Also, if you were playing on a different server with more players or larger maps then that would be sure to influence your frame rates, although most likely to the same extent that you have described.
