I know there are lots of threads about this here on NGU and for sure most are great and do work. This is just what i have found works best for me, but this does not mean it will not work for you. I will add links to the tools needed in the tutorial, these tools are from genuine sites and are all virus free. Feel free to test for viruses and let me know if you find any viruses and i will remove the link but i am 100% they are clean. After you have done all the steps make sure to reboot and please let me know if you notice a difference.

STEP 1

First we need to download the tools, below are the links once downloaded and installed you may continue to STEP 2.

STEP 2

Now you should have all the above installed so lets start. Open Malwarebytes and let it update, you should now have the scanner.

Select Perform Full Scan and hit the scan button. Let it run until you get a report, this will tell you if it found any unwanted viruses. If the answer is yes then just hit the remove selected items button, you may be asked to reboot once the items have been removed. If there was no viruses found just close the program.

STEP 3

Now lets use Ccleaner, so open the program and let it update if your asked to. Next click the cleaner tab on the left and you should see the image below.

Tick all the boxes that you want to be cleaned, i tick them all except the last box (wipe free space). Then click the Analyze button and it will show what can be removed. Now click Run Cleaner button and Ccleaner will clean the shown files and remove them from your computer. Next click the application tab at the top and do the same as we just did in the windows tab. Now click the registry tab on the left and check your desired boxes, i tick all here aswell. Now click Scan For Issues and when done always save a back up of your registry then click the Fix Selected Issues button and your done. Close Ccleaner.

STEP 4

Now we will open Diskmax and again apply any updates it asks.

Next click Complete on the far left and Diskmax will start to do its thing. Each time it starts a new section you can tick the box to remember you answer, i click yes for all. When done you can now close Diskmax. Whilst cleaning it asks about deep scan for this you need to activate it, you can see how here You must login or register to view this content..

STEP 5

Now we can use the built in cleaner that comes with windows 7, just click the start orb and in the search at the bottom type Disk Cleanup and the select it.

First it will scan for files to be removed then ask you do you want to delete them, go ahead and do so it will then clean your machine. When done just close.

STEP 6

Last thing we will do is defrag our drives, so click start orb and type in the search Disk Defragmenter.

Now just select the drive you want to defrag and click the Analyze Disk button this will show if your drive is fragmented if it says that it is click the Defragment Disk button and let it run. Do this for all you drives you wish to defrag, when finished close the program.

So now just reboot and you should see an improvement in performance, as i said above i do this procedure on my own machines and my friends and cant believe the improvement it makes. Hope this will help some people get their computers running better.
