How to configure Mozilla Thunderbird
with a custom email on your hosting ect



Prerequisites

  1. An email (I believe you can use gmail/yahoo ect, I just haven't tried it yet)
  2. The server's info (IP/Port for emails)
  3. Mozilla Thunderbird
  4. A brain



  1. Download Mozilla Thunderbird and install You must login or register to view this content.

  2. Fill in your information (click skip and use existing email)

    You must login or register to view this content.

    Right after you click ok, click Manual Config at the bottom.
    You must login or register to view this content.

    Set it up like this
    You must login or register to view this content.
    Where gator252.hostgator.com is, put your servers ip/domain.

  3. Click Done and start using your email.


Note: Yes, I know one email is '[email protected]' and one is '[email protected].' I did this because I already had the test email attached to Thunderbird so I finished the tutorial on another email.
I deleted the emails so don't try spamming them :fa:[/size]

It's pretty simple to setup but given the average IQ of the common NGU member this outta be quite helpful. :y:

I could have sworn some time ago Mozilla said they were going to discontinue this.
