here is an easy way to install Linux mint... using vmware
OK first of course what u wanna do is simply download Linux and vmware...
here are the links...
Linux mint: You must login or register to view this content. you wanna download the kde Version
Vmware trial : You must login or register to view this content. download "vmware workstation"
After installation of vmware is comple follow the instructions
1. Open Vm ware workstation and click on "create a new virtual machine"
2.Then u wanna press next.(make sure advanced has been checked
3.press next again leaving the hardware compatibility the default.
4.Now u wanna click on "Installer disk image file (iso):" and browse for the linux mint image. press next
5.u wanna choose "linux" and in the drop down Ubuntu 64bit or 32bit depending on what iso u downloaded. press next
6.Name ur machine and press next
7.Leave the number of processors to one then change the number of cores to two.Press next
8.U wanna alocate around 1Gb of ram depending on your system.Press next
9.Use Bridged network then press next.
10.Leave to default and press next.
11.Leave to default and press next.
12.Leave to default and press next.
13 Now allocate the disk size.(how big u want ur hard drive to be)
14.press next.
15.Leave to default and press next.
16 press finish.Now power on the machine.
wait...
17.You show be in linux.U r booting from the Iso so dont use it carry on the steps.
18.Double cick on the CD icon where it says intall linux mint...
19.Choose lang then press next...
20.press continue...
21.Press erase disk and install linux mint
22.press install now
23.If it gives some sort of dialogue press continue.
24.The rest is fairly simple.Its just info e.g ur time and country and stuff.
25.Once uve done installing press "i finished installing.This is at the bottom of VMWARE NO IN THE ACTUAL VIRTUAL MACHINE!
