What are you trying to record?
If you want to do games you have some options.
Fraps (I don't suggest it, there are much better options)
Dxtory (One of the better options, has some issues though at least from what I have seen. You have a ton of options to work with, what drives to record to, benchmarking. etc)
Playclaw
OBS
If you want to record your desktop
Fraps (Again I don't suggest it but you can use it.)
Camtasia
Dxtory
Super screen cap (I haven't used this in years and it wasn't all that great.)
There's a bunch out there.
