(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); I've learned all of this a while back and truely helped me back then. So i'll be showing you each method, but it's usually doing the same process. [/SIZE]

IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH YOUR SYSTEM THAT IT RUNS SLOW, THIS WILL 100% MAKE IT RUN WAY FASTER THAN BEFORE.... unless you have a virus, huehue. THERE WILL BE PARTS WHERE YOU WILL NEED TO DELETE FILES. DON'T WORRY IF IT'S IMPORTANT, YOUR SYSTEM WILL NOT DELETE IT.

METHOD 1: Make sure your on your desktop. Click "Start" on the bottom left corner. Go to the search bar below and Type in "Run", go into Run and then type in " %TEMP% " and press Ok. Next, you will see you have random files that you don't need at all and make your system run slower. On your keyboard press CTRL+8 to select all and right click and delete them. Note, again that if it's an important file located there. Your computer will not delete it. If it says skip, just skip and continue.

METHOD 2: Go back into your desktop and do the same thing. Go to the search bar and type in "Run" and after type in "prefetch" do the same press CTRL+8 and delete all, if there are any important files. Your system will not delete them.

METHOD 3: Do the same thing again, and go into the search bar, this time your first search, " Disk Cleanup " go into that and press ok. Next, check all the boxes, and press ok. Now, again don't worry it wont delete important files. One major file that will be checked, but not deleted will be Recycle Bin.

METHOD 4: Do the same thing , and go into the search bar. This time you will first search, " Power Options " go into Power Options and click on High Performance. Note that if your on a laptop this drains more battery life. But at the end, it does the job!

METHOD 5: Go back into the search bar and type in " msconfig " and click on it. You should get a System Configuration box. Go over to the top and click on "BOOT" and go down and click on Advanced Options. Check the box for "Number of Processors" and put the number to the highest it can be. Short example, if it says "1" change it to "2". Depends on what computer you have. Now head over to the right and check "Maximum Memory" and click ok. Now press apply, now at this point it is going to say if you want to restart your system press Restart.

METHOD 6: Search "Recycle Bin" if you don't have it on your desktop, just go to the search bar and drag it to your Desktop. Right click on it and make sure you empty that out. Maybe you have many files deleted in there that you didn't know of and never cleared it. Think of it like a trash can, you go throw your trash in the garbage disposal. You don't just leave it their, it'll stack up. You need to clear the Recycle Bin.

METHOD 7: (This is for to boot open programs and applications faster) Go to Web browser, App, or Program you want to load faster. Right click on it and go down to "Properties" now make sure your on "Shortcut" under it find where it says "Target:" now it should show the link or what-not. Make sure you go all the way to the end of the link at SPACE ONE TIME then copy and paste this code. /prefetch:1

METHOD 8: This time you wont be going to search run and stuff. Go to your search bar and search "Regedit". Now, you should have Regedit Editor tab pop up. To make the prcoess faster, just click these in order. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > Session Manager > Memory Management > Prefetch Parameters > Now go to the right side of the tab and find "EnableSuperFetch" and click it and change the data from whatever number you have to "0". This should make your laptop fast.

METHOD 9: Go to the search bar and type in "FOLDER AND SEARCH" click the first thing that pops up. It should open a File Explorer Options tab. Click on the next tab which is "View" Now go check the box that says "Always show icons, never thumbnails" and uncheck "Display file icons on thumbnails".

METHOD 10: Go to the search bar and type in "Control panel" Next, when you click on it go to System and Security > System. Now, on your left side you should see Advanced System Settings [ADMIN] click on that. You should now have a System Properties tab open. Make sure your on the on the "Advanced" tab. Find where it says "Performance" and click on settings. Now go to "Advanced " tab and at the bottom you should see "Virtual Memory" click on Change. Now, before you go into change look how much gb RAM your PC has. In that case, my laptop has 4GB RAM. So i'll explain this as good as I can. Go into change, now the first box, uncheck it, now you should have the ability to click things. Your going to get your GB RAM and multiply it by 1024. In that case, i'm going to multiply my RAM which is 4 by 1024 then your going to multiply your answer it 2. Now, on Initial size (MB) type in your answer there. and for the bottom and add a "1" on the first number of your answer. For an example my initial size is 8092 get the 8 and add one on it 9082. Simple right? Stay in school kiddos you need your math Winky Winky at this point click "set" and press okay, It should tell you to restart your laptop. Just restart it and you'll be good.

METHOD 11: Go to your web browser and clear your history from beginning of time. Make sure you don't leave your PC on for a long time and never shut it down. Make sure you at least restart it everytime you use it so it wont be slow that much.

METHOD 12: Go to your Desktop and go to your search bar. Type in "cmd" or "Command Prompt" and right click it and choose Run as Administrator. Now, copy this code ( Fsutil behavior query memoryusage ) and paste it into CMD and press enter. Now, copy this other code and paste it as well. ( Fsutil behavior set memoryusage 2 ) and press enter once pasted.

METHOD 13: Open up Notepad, and copy and paste this code Mystring=(80000000) Now, top left corner click on File and choose "Save As". Rename it to RAM.vbe and just save it to your Desktop. Leave it as a Text Document. Now, on your desktop just double click on the RAM icon and you should be done.

METHOD 14: Go to your PC Desktop and Go to the bottom left and go to your search bar. Search for " Disk Defragmenter " Under Current status, select the disk you want to defragment (Most likely your Local (CSmile Drive). To determine if the disk needs to be defragmented or not, click Analyze disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Once Windows is finished analyzing the disk, you can check the percentage of fragmentation on the disk in the Last Run column. If the number is above 10%, you should defragment the disk. Click Defragment disk. Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. Disk Defragmenter might take from several minutes to a few hours to finish, depending on the size and degree of fragmentation of your hard disk. You can still use your computer during the defragmentation process.

METHOD 15: It's a good idea to uninstall all the programs you don't plan to use. This should include both manufacturer-installed software and software you installed yourself, but don't want any more—especially utility programs designed to help manage and tune your computer's hardware and software. Most of the programs you have on your PC are probably high on GB/MB. You might want to delete some and make sure you Recycle them in the Recycle Bin!

Great Post but to clarify somethings here...

1: On Method 5 when you wrote "check "Maximum Memory"" it doesn't matter if it is checked or not because window will by default use the maximum memory available unless the user specifically inputs a number in the box. If the user decided to check the box and type in the Maximum Memory they have it will default back to 0 ( Default value) . Users should be careful not go back into into the advance option and click the (OK) box as it will think the User inputted 0 and automatically change it to 256 but as long the user doesn't press (OK) or (Apply) on msconfig then they should be fine.

2: On Method 10 I think you should try to make it more clear on the virtual memory part as the first time I skimmed through it I had to re-read it a couple of time. Basically though it should be like ( if you have 4Gb of ram then multiply it by 1024 so for Ex. 1024*4=4096 then multiply that answer by 2 = 8192) However most people preferences is to multiply it by 1.5. Also it is better to have the initial and maximum size set at the same amount to prevent fragmentation of page files and which allows for faster access time. You should've also noted for people with SDD to have the page file set to it to allow even faster reads unless they are afraid of it lowering the life span of it because of the constant read on the drive ( Some people debate over this but I won't go into detail with it). Also if they have a second physical drive installed instead of a SSD then to put it on there instead for a small performance boost.

3: On Method 13 is a very old but useful trick. You should clarify that the user should keep the file somewhere accessible as the file or script should be used when the pc seem slow or sluggish. What then script does is allocate the amount of memory you put in the script and forces them back to the swap file. It is best used after heavy use of programs or memory leaks. Nowadays though if you have more the 4 GB of Ram then you won't see much of a difference and Window Xp and up usually does a good job managing it but having the script there can't hurt. Also there are more Strings too it such as (mystring=(80000000) for 128 MB RAM, mystring=(160000000) for 256 MB RAM, mystring=(320000000) for 512 MB RAM, mystring=(655000000) for 1GB RAM, mystring=(1000000000) for 2GB RAM & Above.) Usually though the default is fine.

4: On Method 14 Window 7 and up usually have a schedule automatically set every week for HDD so users don't have to do it themselves and if they miss that schedule ( Power pc off or in sleep mode) then usually it would start up in the background the next time it is on.

Other then that nice guide to keep around!

Thanks man! I'll do my best bro.

All these comments are saying it worked for them, and was very useful. I always do it every week for the past 8 months with no problems. My thread shouldn't screw up your PC mate. You didn't follow instructions, and did extra things without being noted probably. What system are you using Windows correct?
