(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); i really dont know a whole lot about computers just a bit about torrenting but when i installed Call of duty 2 (legit copy) on my computer it installed fine but when i ran it my screen went black and my computer froze and i had to restart my computer, but my screen didnt go pitch black, its almost like it was on but there was no colour. I have windows 7 and according to the windows 7 forums and website call of duty 2 should work so could someone please help me out, its one of my favorite games because its a classic :(

well it can run crysis almost on max settings and its a new computer we got for christmas so it should be able to run call of duty 2 other than that i dont know about drivers and stuff

Is it 64bit? If so, you can try running it in a different compatibility mode. Sometimes programs will run faster than they're supposed to be played (Known issue for older games), and cause fatal issues. Albeit that this doesn't seem like it could happen, but keep in mind that's a possibility.

Try running the game as an Administrator. See if that helps.

i tried running as adminastrator and i tried running it using the option that picks the best compatability for the program but these are the menus i get for when i want to change my compatability manually if that helps at all because i have no clue what any of it means

im currently using windows xp service pack 2 because thats what was recomended by the computer and just something else i was wondering, is it bad for your computer to shut it off by holding down its power butten, because thats what i have to do when the screen goes black, i dont do this normally lol

It's not safe. I'm assuming you're holding the power button down for five seconds, it can basically damage sectors in your hard drive, and then your computer ends up not being able to boot up.

It's happened to me before.

alright well f this im not messing around with my computer anymore until i can find a sure fire way to get cod2 to work beacuse ive already had to hold down the butten for 5seconds 3 times and my next problem will be a brand new computer that doesn't start

Yea, It'll **** with your .boot files. It's happened to me numerous times too, thankfully Windows 7 has the startup repair. HDDs need to wind down (Pulling the needle off the discs), just like they have to wind up.

Have you tried uninstalling/reinstalling?
