Most likely it was the owner bidding with you and made that 55k bid to see if you would overbid him again, some people fall for it mate.

on topic i just picked up jerome for 55k pretty cheap for him he'll fit in nice in my english bpl silvers just saving up for sinclair now then maybe cleverly and my team will be complete, just need a few of my players to sell in my trade pile then i'll be able to get them both
