the OS template in solusvm says minecraft reinstall the OS on that, and then your all setup just read the instructions

Are you able to edit the game folders and all that anytime you want? I've never used a VPS. Am i able to insert downloaded items into the server.

Well its not very straight forward, and yes gameservers are editable/folders Just use FTP well its SFTP but same program FileZilla and you can setup a local download area via apache and just download them from a site, but note they dont work on all sites
